The short answer is yes. To get a credit report online, you will need a credit card to verify your identity and to pay for your credit report.

Even if your report is FREE, you will need a credit card. You are actually signing up for a trial of credit monitoring and if you do not cancel within 30 days you will be charged.

The only way to get a credit check with no credit card is by mail.

You will need to mail in your request with a check. Note: The credit bureaus may not offer the same services such as 3 bureau reports by mail.

Note: when ordering a 3 bureau credit report, these will all be similar and can be ordered from any credit bureau.
